Dili, 25 April 2025 — Timor-Leste’s Lead Doping Control Officer (DCO), Ms. Benvinda Alves, recently represented the nation at the SEARADO Sample Collection Personnel (SCP) Train-The-Trainer Course held on 23–24 April 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The training, organized by SEARADO with support from the DCAT Doping Control Agency of Thailand, brought together nine participants from across Southeast Asia. With most SEARADO member countries now equipped with established testing teams, the course aimed to build a pool of qualified SCP Trainers within national anti-doping organizations (NADOs).
Ms. Benvinda actively participated in the intensive two-day course, giving them an insight into the upcoming changes to the International Standards of Testing (IST), the latest protocols, and best practices in sample collection. Her involvement in this initiative reflects Timor-Leste’s ongoing efforts to build capacity and strengthen its anti-doping system in line with international standards.
