Dili, June 27, 2024– The National Sports Commission (NSC), in partnership with the Timor-Leste Sports Confederation, organized a comprehensive Anti-Doping Education & Learning program for the country’s international-level athletes. This initiative, held on June 27th, targeted elite athletes, including those who will be representing Timor-Leste at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris, France.

The program aimed to equip athletes with essential knowledge and understanding of anti-doping regulations, ensuring they adhere to international standards. In addition to the educational sessions, athletes were guided on obtaining the Anti-Doping Education & Learning (ADEL) Certification, a mandatory requirement for competing in major international events. The ADEL Certification ensures that athletes are fully informed about anti-doping rules and can compete with integrity.

This educational session is part of Timor-Leste’s anti-doping education plan to support and prepare its athletes for the global stage, ensuring they compete fairly and honorably.
