On September 3rd, representatives from the National Sports Commission (NSC) attended a crucial webinar hosted by the South East Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organization (SEARADO) focusing on “Values-Based Education in Sport: Programs from Europe and Latin America.” The webinar highlighted the significant role of values-based education in preventing doping, starting from an early age.

Key speakers included Dr. Nina Makuc from the Slovenian Anti-Doping Organization (SLOADO) and Ms. Diana Medina from the Pan American Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (ORAD-PAN). Dr. Makuc introduced the I Value Sport Toolkit, a comprehensive resource designed to help teachers deliver values-based education in schools, while Ms. Medina showcased ‘The True Athlete Challenge’, an engaging mini-series aimed at instilling the importance of fair play among young athletes.

The participation of the NSC in this event underscores Timor-Leste’s commitment to promoting clean sport and integrating values-based education into its national sports programs.
