Surabaya, 7 August 2025 — The FIVB Women’s U21 World Championship 2025, held on August 6–7 in Surabaya, Indonesia, brought together 24 national teams, nearly 280 athletes, and dozens of support staff to compete for one of volleyball’s most prestigious titles. Powerhouse nations such as Brazil, the United States, Italy, Japan, and China joined a diverse field that reflected the sport’s global reach and growing popularity.

Alongside the high-level competition, the International Testing Agency (ITA) integrated anti-doping education into the official championship program to promote fair play and integrity. Representing both the ITA and Timor-Leste, Ms. Kerry Galhós led the initiative by delivering two education sessions and managing a Clean Sport Education Booth. Her background as a former athlete and her strong commitment to clean sport provided athletes and support personnel with practical, accessible knowledge on protecting the integrity of competition.

Her role not only advanced the ITA’s global mission but also positioned Timor-Leste as an active contributor to international clean sport efforts. By taking part in this global initiative, Timor-Leste has strengthened its visibility within the sporting community and reinforced its commitment to upholding integrity in sport.
