Bangkok, Thailand – On February 12, 2025, Ms. Kerry Galhós, Clean Sport Educator for the International Testing Agency (ITA) and Anti-Doping Program Manager for Timor-Leste, had the honor of serving as a speaker and facilitator at an international anti-doping seminar. The seminar was organized by the Ju Jitsu Asian Union (JJAU) as part of the 2nd Ju Jitsu Asian Youth Championship 2025 and was attended by JJAU officials, Ju Jitsu coaches, managers, referees, and athletes from across Asia.

During the seminar, Ms. Galhós led a session on anti-doping, covering key topics such as Athletes’ Rights and Responsibilities, Anti-Doping Rules, the Doping Control Process, and Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs). The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of clean sport principles and their role in maintaining integrity in sports.

Reflecting on her experience, Ms. Galhós shared, “This was my first opportunity to present at an international anti-doping seminar, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. Engaging with Ju Jitsu athletes and officials from across Asia reinforced the importance of education in fostering a culture of clean sport. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to this initiative and look forward to continuing this work.”

She also expressed her gratitude to the organizations that made this possible, stating, “I sincerely thank the Ju Jitsu Asian Union (JJAU) for the opportunity to be part of this important event, SEARADO for their continuous support, and the International Testing Agency (ITA) for their guidance and trust in my role as a Clean Sport Educator. I also extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Art, and Culture of Timor-Leste for their unwavering support in advancing anti-doping education and clean sport initiatives.”

This initiative aligns with global efforts to educate athletes and support personnel on anti-doping regulations, reinforcing the importance of integrity, fairness, and compliance in sports.

Looking ahead, Ms. Galhós remains committed to strengthening anti-doping education in Timor-Leste and collaborating with international partners to promote clean sport in the region.
