The National Sports Commission (NSC) recently conducted a series of anti-doping workshops from November 13 to 23, targeting the municipalities of Aileu, Ermera, Bobonaro, Liquiça, and Manatuto. This initiative aimed to raise awareness among athletes, coaches, and sports stakeholders about the importance of clean sports and the harmful effects of doping.

The workshops received significant interest and enthusiasm from local sports organizations. Responding to their requests, the NSC extended the program with two additional sessions on December 9 and 10 at the administrative posts of Balibó and Atabae in Bobonaro Municipality. These extra sessions saw an excellent turnout, further highlighting the community’s eagerness to learn and commit to maintaining integrity in sports.

Throughout the workshops, participants engaged in interactive discussions on anti-doping rules, the dangers of prohibited substances, and the role of education in promoting clean sport. These sessions underscore the NSC’s commitment to fostering a fair and transparent sports environment in Timor-Leste.

The NSC expressed gratitude to the local sports organizations and administrative authorities for their collaboration and support in making this initiative a success. This momentum will undoubtedly strengthen the ongoing efforts to ensure integrity and fairness in sports across the country.
